End User License Agreement.
This is the license that governs your use of the Searxly software. Short version: you can use it freely, but we're not liable for anything and you must follow the rules below.

1. The license grant
Searxly grants you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to install and use the software on devices you own or control, solely for your own personal or internal business use, subject to this agreement.
2. What you may do
- Install and run Searxly on your own Macs and iOS devices
- Use all included features for private, non-commercial purposes
- Make backup copies for your own use
3. What you may not do
- Reverse engineer, decompile, disassemble, or attempt to discover the source code (except where local law explicitly allows)
- Modify, adapt, or create derivative works of the software
- Rent, lease, lend, sell, sublicense, distribute, or transfer the software to anyone else
- Use the software for any illegal purpose or in violation of any third-party rights
- Remove or alter any proprietary notices
4. Open source components
Searxly includes or links to various open-source components (including a SearXNG instance, Tor, and other libraries). Those components are governed by their own licenses, which are included in the app bundle or available on our GitHub. This EULA does not restrict your rights under those licenses.
5. No warranties
THE SOFTWARE IS PROVIDED “AS IS” AND “AS AVAILABLE,” WITHOUT WARRANTY OF ANY KIND, EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO THE WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. WE DO NOT WARRANT THAT THE SOFTWARE WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR SECURE.
6. Limitation of liability
TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY LAW, SEARXLY AND ITS PUBLISHER SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, OR ANY LOSS OF PROFITS, DATA, USE, GOODWILL, OR OTHER INTANGIBLE LOSSES, WHETHER BASED IN CONTRACT, TORT, OR OTHERWISE, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.
7. Updates and changes
We may update the software and this EULA from time to time. Continued use after an update constitutes acceptance of the new terms. Material changes will be announced on our official channels.
8. Termination
This license terminates automatically if you breach any term. Upon termination you must cease all use and destroy all copies of the software in your possession.
9. Governing law
This agreement is governed by the laws of France, without regard to its conflict of laws principles. Any disputes will be resolved in the courts located in Paris, France.
